A landscape architect can organize the whole property: grading concept, outdoor rooms, circulation, planting, water, privacy, arrival, views, landscape systems, and the relationship among architecture and land.
Civil input may address grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, access, and erosion control. Structural engineering may address walls, foundations, slabs, roofs, pools, guards, existing-structure interfaces, and site-specific loads.
Soils, rock, groundwater, slope stability, wildfire, arboriculture, ecology, lighting, acoustics, pools, mechanical systems, and building science may require specialists depending on the property.
One party should manage design integration and one party should manage construction integration. The owner should understand the communication path, document authority, decision process, and how scope gaps between consultants are resolved.
